Choline & Inositol are co-enzymes that help to maintain healthy arteries through their involvement in maximising the cholesterol metabolism.  They also assist the body in removing fats from the liver and help proper liver, gallbladder and kidney function.

Choline is necessary for correct transmission of nerve impulses from the brain right through to the extremities of the peripheral nervous system.  Without sufficient choline and inositol in the diet, proper brain function and memory may be impaired.

Choline assists in bile production, and bile emulsifies or combines fats with water allowing them to be more readily transported out of the liver where they might otherwise gather and compromise proper liver function.  Both choline and inositol are taken up as building blocks for the cell walls.

Vitamin B12, folic acid and methionine are used by the body to build choline.  Insufficient supply of any one of these may result in inadequate natural choline production.  Studies show adverse changes in liver, kidneys and brain function when choline is deficient, while a lack of inositol has been linked with an abnormal build up of triglycerides in the liver.  The average diet provides between 500mg and 1000mg of choline daily, which is richest in eggs, liver and other organ meats, as well as brewer's yeast and wheat germ.  The average intake of inositol which is in a wide variety of foods is 1000mg.
